[edit] History
The building that houses Wyld Arms was originally a communal living space owned by a textile company in Kings Row. Housing an industrial kitchen, a large common area, and two floors of 2 and 3 room suites, it was ideal for workers on a budget whose basic needs were provided by the company.
As the area fell into decline, the textile company sold to building to then realtor Bradley Links. An entreprenuring spirit, Links set out to try and market the place as a youth hostel first, and later as apartments after installing effeciency-like kitchens in the suites. Its was not very sucessful and the building fell into disrepair. As the real estate prices in the area plunged, Links found himself out of a job. Turning to his hobby of gun collecting, he converted the ground floor common area into a storefront and did modest trade in pawn and guns under the name Link's Loadout.
Bradley Links eventually turned the store over to his son Bradley Links, Jr. and retired in Baumton, a decision that proved fatal when the Rikti invaded. Links, Jr. expanded the gun business and eliminated the pawn dealings after one too many holdups. He continued to rent out the usuable apartments upstairs and hire part-time employees as the gang activity in the area made them never stay long.
In the fall of 2004, he hired part-time hero Jae Smith, and she stayed both a viable employee and great tenent for 3 years, garnering a lot of hero business. Her prescence kept the gangs at bay and she proved to be a skilled gunsmith despite a lack of training. Over time her supergroup came to rent and renovate some of the apartments and the basement floor of the building as a base.
In fall of 2007, Links Jr and his long time girlfriend were engaged and he made the offer to sell the store to Smith and the building to the Order as he planned to join his fiancee's family's business in Florida. Smith accepted the offer and chose to retire from active hero work to run the renamed Wyld Arms store.
