Unchainer was originally created a part of a duo with another character, Unlatched. She grew from there to become who she is today.

[edit] Unchainer's Appearance

Unchainer was first seen ordering her favorite glass of red wine in the ski chalet one day. Since then, many people have become used to her walking up politely and asking for the usual glass that she has. She isn't particularly outgoing, but she isn't closed either. Those that know her, however, know there's something more sinister to this polite woman.

Polite almost to a fault, Unchainer will kill you but never insult you to your face, or fail to say "Bless you" if you sneeze.

Much of Unchainer's past, personality, motives aren't revealed by the creator of her to try to maintain a sense of unknown to her. This was inspired by many others who maintain that with their characters, and also a way to possibly add in new and interesting things without being flamed as retconning as the story moves forward...

[edit] Assault on Hero Corps

Many villains boast about the information on their Hero Corps profile. Unchainer, however, greatly detests private information about herself being known publicly. Back in January, she personally killed the man who created her Hero Corps profile, Harry Goldstein. This was followed by the death of another investigator, Sam Neil, who was a good friend of the hero Equitas. This hero, hired by Hero Corps, was the first to fight Unchainer but lost, dying by having his entire body decayed in an instant.

While Unchainer looks to be twenty four, the previous investigators into her past have found evidence against this. The following a short summary of what has been found by Hero Corps.

Unchainer appeared to have been admitted to a mental instution during the 1980's, where she escaped with the help of one of the workers. His remains were never found, but his spirit recalled that she decayed him to his bones on the borders of the state while he made a getaway, hoping to have Rose fall in love with him. Later in the 80's, investigators found to their surprise that Unchainer was employed at Hooters for no more than three months. The report found that she hated every moment of it and wasn't liked by her co-workers. When she left, it was found all the cars in the parking lot had their tires destroyed.

There have been others findings of activites by Unchainer in the 90's, but the most striking find was Unchainer's presence in the late 1940's. Documents in the University of North Carolina show a woman matching Unchainer's description, sans her chains and rune, travelled with an expedition team to a small town in Egypt to investigate a specific pyramid there. No one from the team ever returned from the journey.

The Unchainer.

Recently, Unchainer's chains were stolen from her by the woman known as Naughty Nadya, who was aiming to kidnap Unchainer as well, but due to the interference of some heroes led by Luficia, bargained down to keeping merely the chains. Nady handed them off to Thutmose, another man seeking to end Unchainer's life, while leaving Unchainer beaten and without her chains in Bloody Bay.

Thutmose beleived his victory against Unchainer was at hand, but he did not count on Naughty Nadya returning to steal the chains back to use for her own goals. Nadya kept the chains for some time, while a paranoid and nervous Unchainer struggled to maintain her will and sanity without them. The battle of the chains ended when the flame assasin and Unchainer's nemesis, Kichi and her friends challenged Nadya and her friends to a fight for the chains, Kichi's reasoning being that she would be the only one who could bring pain and sorrow to Unchainer.

The chains were given to Kichi, who delivered them as planned to Unchainer. Though it gave Unchainer happiness to have them back, it also made her eager once again to bring a quick death to the woman known as Kichi.

[edit] Rivalry

Many people have noticed that when put in the same area, there is an aura of tension between Unchainer and Kichi. Their rivalry began months back, when Kichi was hired to kill Unchainer. The two fought, and Unchainer released the chains binding Kichi's evil side briefly. Realizing her mistake when Kichi retaliated back, Unchainer attempted to re-bind the woman. She managed to, but nearly at the cost of her life, when Kichi stabbed Unchainer through the stomach with her flaming sword and left. With the quick help of Thyra, Unchainer was nursed back to health. Now to this day, Unchainer seeks to bring an end to the woman who left her for dead, and Kichi seeks to destroy the woman who is able to release her dark-side at will.

[edit] Decay

Rose has the ability to summon the forces of decay in a particular location. When focused, it can destroy nearly anything that it is focused on; some things, such as people, larger objects, etc. take longer and a more concentrated effort to destroy. Rose can also manipulate the decay, allowing her to shoot blasts of it. She can surround herself with decay, causing the very air around her to be poisoned.

As of late, Rose's decay abilities have increased to new levels. She has "evolved" her decay so that she can now effect the very air around a person. As a result, whoever is the unfortunate target will find that all the air around them is decayed. It is as if there was no air left for them to breath. At the moment, Rose can only focus this power around a single person, and it requires a great deal of focus on her part to do so. However, if she was ever able to master this power, it could result in the massive deaths with a mere wave of her hand.

Rose wields two rularuu blades, which she keeps on her at all times. Her proficiency with them is above average, though it isn't her skill with blades that one should fear, if they do encounter her wielding them. The magic in the two swords empower Rose's dark magic, much like her chains. Rose twists her decay power to focus on strengthening her own body, thus allowing her to rapidly heal her wounds. It should be noted that she can only do so with both blades in her hands, and that since both of Rose's hands are holding the swords, she cannot properly use her decay powers.

As of late, those who have survived against Rose have reported a new power. How they survived is beyond anyone's comprehension, even their own; they believe she let them go, in order to spread tales of her terror. One victim, the owner of an artifact store had this to say.

"I didn't know she was the Unchainer! She looked nice, polite, pleasant enough. She wore a nice, fancy dress, hugged all the right places. But it wasn't...that's the thing! That's why I didn't think she was a villain, it was all classy. And she was so nice. She leaned in close to me, our eyes met. Then her eyes flashed. The next thing I knew, I saw flashes of my worst fears in front of my eyes. It was horrifying. All I could do was fall to the ground and cower. When I finally came to, I found all of my artifacts gone, along with the woman. It was Unchainer!"

It's currently unknown how Rose has obtained this power, as it doesn't seem to be connected to the forces of decay. The only way to not be affected by it seems to be to avoid eye contact with her, or to have conquered your own fears.

[edit] Power Hungry

Since the events of Good Mourning Grandville, Rose's thirst for power has grown tremendously. She now seeks out more permanent sources of power for herself, her goal being to wield enough power to take whatever she wants; not from people, but from life, from existence. Rose has begun receiving training in controlling the aura known as "chi", after hearing it was possible to stop a person's heart with one swift movement. Despite the fact that she is, for all intensive purposes, immortal, Rose is not taking her time with this bid for power. She is frequently questioning those around her regarding the origin of their powers, seeking to somehow tap into it and use it for herself.

[edit] Artifacts Collected

The following is a list of artifacts that Rose has collected. It should be noted that this is just a list of artifacts whose true power Rose knows of. She has many others stored away in a warehouse in St. Martial, including some listed here. (And if anyone wants to do an RP of trying to steal/acquire them, let me know!)

Tiara of the Ice Princess - Bestows upon the wearer the ability to control ice. Abilities vary depending on the amount of magic in the person. When worn, the user will have a constant migraine.

Rularuu Blades - Rose does not know the true purpose yet of these blades, but they were a synthesis of the Pharoah's Dagger, the Devil's Dagger, the Dagger of Destiny, and an Honored Brute. The two blades still act to empower Rose's decaying abilities as the original two daggers did, but Rose is still trying to figure out where the abilities of the Dagger of Destiny and the Honored Brute are in the swords.

Body-Switching Crystal - A crystal Rose acquired some time ago. She had used it one of her plans, then went back to retrieve/steal it for any possible further use. A person who has the crystal on them, whether it be in their hands, on a necklace they're wearing, etc., will switch bodies with whomever they come into physical contact with. This physical contact means contact with bare skin. The body switch will last for twenty minutes.

Feline's Monolith - A small monolith that sometimes morphs into the statue of a cat. It contains the spirit of a feline. When at a relaxed state, the stone cat can turn into flesh, when perceiving a threat, the statue will take action and transform into a stone version of a feline species. What feline it turns into depends on the perceived threat; the largest it can transform into is a panther or tiger. Much like a cat, the statue is fickle and must be taken care of.

Candelabra of Darkness - This candelabra, when activated, sucks away the surrounding light, encasing the area in darkness. The downside is that not even the person who activated the artifact can see.

Depowering Crystal - This crystal has an odd rune etched on all sides of it. It's unclear where Rose obtained this, but what is clear is its usage. When an enemy is weakened, Rose mutters some magic words and places the crystal on the person's body. Their super powers are then slowly absorbed then stored in the crystal. Rose doesn't seem to be able to use their powers from within the crystal, nor does she kill her de-powered enemies. Her goal with this artifact is a mystery.

[edit] Current Plots

Unchainer, on the surface, seems to have no on-going plots at the moment. Though this may mean that she may have something larger than one can imagine in store for any hero, heroes, or city. The absence of her armlet may cause some to think the worst is over, but it's quite possible that this only means the worst is yet to come.

Psyntox - A psionic assassin, she has not been seen in quite some time, though undoubtedly Unchainer still seeks out her psionic abilities to aid her in this new age she has been ushered in to.

Kat Kisses - One of the more unique allies that Unchainer has, Kat is one of the few heroes that Unchainer would not kill on sight; in fact, when caught robbing a bank, Kat and Rose sat down for a discussion before both going on their way. Unchainer has always seen Kat as a friend, ever since the day she and Thag Zug helped save her from Naughty Nadya.

Thag Zug - Kat Kisses' other half, Unchainer rarely sees him but keeps the ogre in high regard, both for hiss power and for selflessly saving her.

Luficia - Unchainer's dealings with Luficia started by cheating her out of college money, and ended with the two becoming...somewhat friends. Unchainer feels for Luficia, given that she has a child, and would be hesitant to go after her personally. Though of course, once it comes time to destroy all of existence, things may change.

Vella Vardi - One of Unchainer's pleutonic friends in the D, Rose enjoys having small talks with Vella every now and then and has even been seen going out of her way to help solve her problems, though no one is sure exactly why Rose does such a thing.

Deadly Elegance - A Night Widow who aided Rose during her time under the power of Arachnos, the two seem to share similar cursed fates, causing Rose to oddly relate to the woman.

Nebel Sirene - Nebel and Unchainer have recently come to a huge agreement; Nebel will find her the Dagger of Destiny, and Unchainer will give her the Statue of Janus. The fact that Nebel will get this dagger automatically makes her an ally of Unchainer, albeit a temporary one.

Katarina Zemanova - Rose has been speaking with this woman more often as of late, seeming to use her as a sort of advisor when needed.

Sniper Widow - Rose has recently joined the Widow's Web and has much respect for Sniper Widow. She believe Widow and her both work in similar ways, and for that she has found a useful ally.

Fearful Slumber - Bella instantly became Rose's friend after the two fought together against a man who had insulted them. She moreso became Rose's friend when it was revealed that Bella was pregnant with twins. Nothing is more disturbing than to hear the gleeful squeel of the Unchainer.

Unchainer has few enemies, as she prefers to personally stir the ire of each individual one until it stews to a slow boil, then watch as it erupts into a pillar of flames. Flames of death, preferably.

Junior - Though he may not know it, Unchainer secretly is out to end this man's life in the most painful way possible. How exactly she plans on doing this is anyone's guess.

Miss Titania - A heroine who has a rather nasty habit of not decaying to dust, Unchainer has made it her mission to somehow find a cure to this woman's curse of immortality in order to end her life once and for all.

Cinderborn - Unchainer used this heroine in order to achieve one of her pair of daggers; undoubtedly if she ran into the woman again, she would try to swindle her once more.

Kichi - The "original" nemesis, Rose has not seen her in quite some time but is still fairly eager to end her life.

-Unchainer's real life actress would be Monica Belluci

-I actually had a hard time for a few months figuring out her actress, until Soaring Valor and Shining Glory figured out in 2 minutes that Monica Belluci could be it.

-She was actually 2 seconds away from deletion in December before I decided to see what would happen if she went to the D.

-Her name, Rose, was made up on the spot when someone asked what it was.

-At one point had a large marking on her face, but the marking was removed when I honestly couldn't stand looking at it anymore.

-First drank both red and white wines, but when it became clear to me my complete lack of knowledge in the wine world, I decided to have her go exclusive on red wines, and roll with any sort of fancy names that people bring up.

-Thinks that the classic works of the Marx Brothers are the only real forms of comedy, though she'll admit the Three Stooges were on to something.

-Was a girl scout when she was a child and also had hardcore braces, imagine the kind that had to fit around your head.

-Despite being a super villainess, Unchainer is actually a dynamite cook.

-Had a huge crush on Gregory Peck when she was a teenager.
