[edit] Background
Sean Casus spent his early years in the High Park neighborhood of Kings Row. His powers were apparent from a very early age when, as a baby, he managed to shatter the kitchen table while crying. Sean's parents, fearful of what could happen because of these powers, pressured him to repress his abilities.
His childhood passed uneventfully, and his parents successfully prevented him from using his powers, for a time. It was not until he was 19 years old that he began using his powers, although the use was rather mundane. Having acquired a job in Atlas Park, he often siphoned the speed off of passing cars in order to run to work quickly. However, as the people in his neighborhood learned of his abilities a small Anti-Mutant group decided to try convincing him to move.
Returning from work one evening, the group confronted him on the street in front of his apartment building. After telling the group's leader that he would not move they became increasingly violent. One member of the group, wielding a baseball bat, began beating him and soon many people from the group were joining in. Surrounded, and fearing for his life, Sean struck back. Using his abilities, he shattered the attacker's bones with his screams. The group, now on the defense, began yelling for help. Since they were in Paragon City, being the City of Heroes that it is, a hero promptly arrived. Without being given the chance to explain, the katana wielding hero quickly "defeated" Sean(He refused to fight back.), blinding him in his left eye in the process.
Sean's court case was simply a case of his version of the story against those of the Anti-Mutant group. While the group had a renowned hero on their side, no one could be found to testify as an eye witness on Sean's behalf. He was eventually found guilty and sentenced to 12 years in Ziggursky Prison. He was a prisoner there for three years before finally being busted out during the Arachnos breakout. From there, like other "Destined Ones", he was transported to Mercy Island, where he first began his life as a "Villain".
[edit] Arachnos
Not long after arriving in the Rogue Isles Sean joined Arachnos under the Blackweb division. Although he does not support Arachnos in every aspect, such as their goal of global domination and repressing the general populace, he actively participates in striking out against the Heroes of Paragon City.
[edit] Andromalius
After the death of Alison Symnore, aka Presentiment, a being known as Andromalius began observing Sean, having previously been barred by Alison's mere presence. Although Alison returned to life Andromalius remained, often acting as an authority on any questions Sean had due to it's inherent omniscience, although it has a tendency to lie. Not long after this contact was made Sean began waking up exhausted. Suspecting something was wrong, he asked Laura McHale, aka Stellar Flux, to place him under anesthesia and monitor the results. Immediately after going under, Andromalius took control and escaped. ((I'll finish it another time.))
[edit] Motivations
Sean is, for the most part, average. Having grown up in Paragon City he often idolized Heroes, as many of the youth in Paragon City do. He often wished to become a hero and help those in need, but refrained from doing so due to pressure from his parents to repress his abilities. It was due to this tendency to idolize them that the "defeat" by the Hero was all the more crushing. During his time in the Zig he came to the conclusion that, although their purpose was pure, the system of government licensed heroes was flawed, and now views most heroes with some level of contempt.
Arachnos, although a highly repressive dictatorship, attracted Sean due to their tendency to promote based on power, along with their anti-hero policies. The sudden reversal of influence on how he used his powers, from repressing to using freely, saw him expand his control over his natural abilities at an astounding rate.
Although he has control over Kinetic, Thermal, and Electric energy, he has no natural resistance to any of these types. This means, although he can control these others, the fire will burn him, electricity will electrocute him, pure energy causes mild energy burns, and ice is.. well.. cold. Kinetic remains the only form that he can control without causing himself any form of injury or discomfort.
[edit] Recently
Upon being introduced to Laura McHale, aka Stellar Flux, Blackweb's general physician, Sean underwent a procedure to replace his damaged left eye. Using his eye cells, Laura was able to clone the damaged organ and replace it, utilizing stem cells to reattach the optic nerve to the new eye.
Operative Elaine, soon after being appointed the new commander of Blackweb, had Sean "volunteered" for training in the Widow Corps.
He is currently wanted for blowing up a casino in St. Martial.
