[edit] Personality
A real boyscout by nature, Paragon Wonder is sometimes seen as being too nice to the bad guys but when it comes down to it Pagaron Wonder won't back away from an all out fight. Willing to take the abuse so his teammates won't have to, Paragon Wonder is truly kind and protective to the natives of his adopted planet.
[edit] Powers and abilities
While traveling from his home world to earth, Paragon Wonders space craft was bombarded with cosmic rays causing him to develop amazing abilities.
[edit] Super Strength:
Rated at an amazing strength ratio of 200 metric tons, Paragon Wonder is one of the strongest heroes to patrol Paragon City.
[edit] Near-Invulnerability:
The Cosmic rays gave our alien hero a near-invulnerability to most of earth's weapons. However if enough force is applied Paragon Wonder can still become injured. That being said, Paragon Wonder is likely to tire out due to his limited endurance rather than fall from any injuries he might somehow manage to sustain in a battle. It has been researched and tested and scientists have come to the conclusion that this near-invulnerability is controlled by Kirk's sheerr force of willpower.
[edit] Flight:
The top mode of transport for Paragon Wonder, flight allows him to travel from and to every conflict his super hearing can pick up. His top speed has yet to be determined but it is assumed that he can fly as fast as any jet on earth today.
[edit] Super Hearing:
Using his amazing hearing Paragon Wonder can pick out any trouble from a large distance. His advanced hearing also allows him to hear almost every frequency known to man and then some. It's hard for any villain to escape this hero's range.
[edit] Influences
Inspired by the greatest hero of all time, Superman. Taking elements from DC's top rated hero, Paragon Wonder is truly a tribute worth mentioning. In order to stray from the norm Paragon Wonder's costume took on elements from Marvel's Night Crawler. A more detailed view of Paragons costume specifics can be seen below.
[edit] Character History
[edit] Prologue:
Our story begins like many classic tales; a small child is placed in a ship and rocketed off to an unknown place for a reason of unknown purpose. However this is where our story takes a dramatic change and differs quite completely from the norm. For you see in this story it is not a major planetary catastrophe, nor some awe inspiring event that causes this particular man to send a newborn child off on a journey through the galaxy. No, in this tale it is but a tradition. One tradition that has been going on for more years than man has been on earth. It is the tradition that will bring to earth one of the greatest heroes it has ever seen.
[edit] Chapter 1 - The arrival:
A man walks towards a very advanced looking spacecraft of unknown make and origin. In his arms he is carrying a child wrapped in white trimmed, red and black, blanket, the traditional trappings of the chosen few. He places the child into the rocket and then walks over to a control panel where he inputs some data in a strange alien text. A voice confirms the entry of the data in an unknown language as the ship's hatch slowly closes. A dim blue glow covers the vessel completely and a hatch in the wall of the room opens. As the hatch opens, a bright green sky lit by twin orange suns comes into view. Off in the distance we see rock like pillars that seemingly reach into the heavens of this strange planet. The man enters one final command into the console then walks away without a second glance. In what seems like an instance the spacecraft levitates and shoots off into the distance through the open wall and disappears into space with hardly a sound.
Though the journey will take many years to be complete not much happens along the way, until the ship comes upon the first of four galaxies before reaching our own Milky Way. As the space fearing vessel passes through these old and volatile galaxies, it is bombarded with many forms of cosmic radiation that seemingly causes little to no affect to the occupying child from the unknown planet some millions of light-years away.
Finally exiting the last of the galaxies and entering our own the vessel slows to allow for the entry into our richly developed planet. Unfortunately the bombardment of cosmic rays had left a leak in the fuel cell for the small ship and as it enters our atmosphere it ignites resulting in a brilliant but quick explosion and causing the vessel to spin wildly out of control. The ship crash lands some 30 miles outside the large city of Paragon, Rhode Island. The ship damaged from the extremely rough entry has carried the occupant some millions of light-years relatively unscathed. Unfortunately the occupying youth is not completely without harm. A small shard of the ship has managed to lodge itself into the infant’s skull causing the child to almost appear dead at first glance.
It only takes a few minutes before a nearby car stops to check on the smouldering crater left by the unknown ship. A man and woman step out of the car and slide down into the crater where they approach the damaged ship. As the man comes even closer a red beam bursts forth from the top of the ship and covers the man but for an instant before returning. A damaged message of few alien words is broadcast just loudly enough for the couple to hear as the hatch on the damaged ship slides away to revel the small, seemingly dead, child. The man lets out a yell asking the woman to come to aid him with the child. Unsure of whether he is alive or not the couple gently pick up the infant and bring him to the closest hospital, some 15 miles from their location.
Once there the child is raced immediately into surgery where doctors remove the shrapnel and stabilize the child. After being notified that the child would be placed for a minimum of 2 days in intensive care, the Husband told his wife that he would be going to retrieve the ship and hide it as quickly as humanly possible. After the two days pass the child is moved into a more private room where the couple are allowed to check in on their little miracle.
The husband turns to his wife and suggests that they adopt the boy and raise him as if he were their own. The woman feeling a kind of bond to the young child agrees and they rush off to file all the necessary documents.
The child is registered under the name of Kirk Conrad, son of Victor Conrad and his wife, Jessica Conrad. Unsure of the boy's true age, they get the doctors to give them a best guess and he is registered as a healthy, 2 year old, baby boy. It didn't take long before the couple were allowed to take their new family member home.
As they were leaving the hospital the doctor explained to them that the boy’s blood work was odd and that he might by one of the many hundreds of Meta humans that were appearing throughout the world each and every day. The doctor asked the couple to be careful and to keep a close eye on the young boy's behaviour as he grows into an adult. Heeding the words of advice from the doctor the couple leave the trials and tribulations of this ordeal behind them and take their new baby boy home in hopes to one day have the perfect son they both had wished for.
