[edit] Upbringing
Little is known about Malcolm Scanlon's youth aside from what he tells. It is known that he was born in Belfast, Ireland, and spent much of his youth there. He was raised by his grandfather after the death of his parents in an IRA bombing, from whom he learned to hunt, fish, and fight. He was trained from an early age to be a fighter, taking an interest in boxing, kickboxing, and various martial arts as well as knife-fighting, marksmanship and archery.
