Antares is a member of the Arachnos Commander's Unit, aptly named The Arachnos Elite. For years, many have asked who they are. Very few have lived to find out. The Elite are a division of Lord Recluse's army that leads in specialized operations throughout the Rogue Isles. Unlike the Arachnos army, the Elite are a group of highly trained operatives that do the work no one else can.

[edit] Personality

Huntsman Antares possesses all the prerequisite personality traits associated with his position. He's gruff, overbearing, rude and arrogant; Antares believes that he is the only person worthy of attention on a team. However, Antares will bow to rank and understands the hierarchy of authority in Arachnos and his own Elite Unit.

When teaming with others not a part of the Arachnos army he is often abrupt and controlling, taking command of a weakly lead group and making them into a deadly and efficient killing machine. although his manner is obtuse, no one can deny that he is a great leader and excellent strategist.

Antares grew up here, in the Rogue Isles. Often thought to be a third world country, the Rogue Isles does in fact have a high quality of living for many of its non-superpowered populous. Antares was born and raised in Aeon City on the island of Cap au Diable. He attended New Haven High, where he showed an aptitude for math and the languages; as well as an excellent grasp of politics as taught by his Arachnos teachers.

Early in his secondary career, Antares established himself as a student not to be trifled with. Although he matured later in life, Antares was initially a small child. From experience, most would-be bullies learned to pick easier targets. Antares grew up in a military family, that is to say, both his mother and father were productive assets to Lord Recluse's vision. Subsequently, Antares was trained in hand-to-hand martial arts and weapons training. By the time he was 15, Antares could kill a man (or woman) just by looking at them. Well, that was the rumour.

Consequently, when Antares came out of the closet, no one dared ridicule him. He was Captain of three sports teams and organizer for several school clubs.

After high school, Antares attended Aeon University and majored in Politics, Law, English and History. An active member of the student body, Antares supported everything Arachnos did and was leader of the S.A.D. (Students Against Dissent).

Upon his graduation, with honours, Antares was accepted into the Arachnos Training program. He excelled at every task given him by his superiors and showed special aptitude in leadership positions. Eventually, he achieved Huntsman Status. By the time Lord Recluse opened up recruiting for all genders in his different divisions, Antares had achieved Huntsman Status.

The Arachnos Elite is a division of Lord Recluse's Army that leads in specialized operations throughout the Etoile Islands. Unlike the greater Arachnos Army, the Elite's skills come second to none. The Elite's leaders have been personally chosen by the "Right Hand" of Lord Recluse, the Arachnos Commander. Promotion in leadership is based on previous outstanding leadership skills, earnings in Prestige for the Elite, and the willingness to sacrifice oneself for the betterment of Lord Recluse's vision.

The Arachnos Elite are an unsurpassed group of highly trained soldiers that do the work no one else can. The Elite's ranks hold the deadliest villains known to mankind. They are only loyal to Lord Recluse and the Arachnos Elite.

The Elite truly are the "Cream of the Crop" in Lord Recluse's Army.

[edit] Arachnos Assault Rifle

The highly specialized Standard Issue Arachnos Huntsman Assault Rifle features patent-pending Arachnos technology featuring a secondary barrel that fires standard military grenades and Arachnos' own Venom and Web Grenades. The bullets are armor-piercing bullets made to specification for super-powered targets. Made of the same mysterious Arachnos metal - the weapon itself is nearly indestructible.

The Standard Issue Arachnos Huntsman Assault Rifle also fires three grenade types from a secondary barrel under the main one used for crowd control purposes.

• The Frag Grenade launches a payload that fragments on impact, releasing a spray of metal shrapnel.
• The standard-issue Venom grenade creates a choking cloud of poisonous, corrosive gas that eats away at most metals and tissues.
• The patented Wide Area Web Grenade explodes on impact, ejecting a massive cloud of Arachnos Web Material, which sticks to everything in range.

[edit] Arachnos Advanced Body Armor

Advanced Body Armor is made from an advanced polyresin that dissipates impacts and even resists most bullets. Rumored to have been developed by Crey Industries and "acquired" by Lord Recluse, Arachnos armor is made out of one of the strongest alloys on earth, Impervium. The Impervium is combined with the unique properties of Arachnos metal which gives the flexibility of the strongest Moisture Vapour Permeable (MVP) fabric and the protection of kevlar.

[edit] Arachnos Wolf Spider Helmet'

Made out of the same unique alloy as Arachnos body armor, the Wolf Spider Helmet allows the wearer to see in full 360 degree range. Utilizing state-of-the-art sensor and microprocessing hardware, the Huntsman helmet projects a holographic Heads Up Display directly in front of the soldier's face. Minute movements of the face and tongue can alter the display to see in every conceivable wavelength from thermal vision to outskirts of the ultraviolet range.

[edit] Arachnobot Disruptors

Arachnos have created drone spiders utilizing the latest Crey, Rikti and AeonCorp. technological advances, making incredibly dangerous autonomous robots that have the ability to go where standard troops cannot. Each Huntsman is issued a small recall device which taps into the Arachnos Teleportation system and sends two Arachnobot Disruptors. Arachnos Orb Weavers created the Disruptor arachnobots to capture their prey alive. These drones are also used to take down particularly powerful super-powered threats.

[edit] Longbow

Viewed by Recluse as a mere annoyance, the Longbow units slowly hope to establish control over the many contested islands just off the coast of Paragon City. With well-established bases in Warburg, Siren's Call, and Bloody Bay, the Longbow wage a war for control over the precious resources of these isles. Extending beyond these contested regions, Longbow agents in their signature red and white costumes can be found on all of the Rogue Islands, ever vigilant for any sign of villainy that they might destroy.

As deemed by Lord Recluse's organization of the Arachnos military, Huntsman Antares chose Black Scorpion as his Patron. As leader of the Wolf Spiders and Tarantula troops, Black Scorpion represents the grunts of Recluse's military force; most civilians in the Etoile Islands consider Wolf Spiders little more than legalized thugs and cannon fodder for the super-powered elites. However, Wolf Spiders act more like shock troopers in battle. Being admitted into Lord Recluse's army as a Wolf Spider is the first step towards being an important part of the Arachnos cause.

Black Scorpion personifies the qualities that recruiters look for in potential grunts: Loyalty, Brutality and Discipline. Huntsman are the most brutal and loyal of these soldiers. Antares is honoured to work under his Patron.
