Hero Automaton
From Unofficial Handbook of the Virtue Universe
Perhaps it's the careful precision of every movement, or the way she can tirelessly perform the same tasks over and over, but something about Sara Deckard, AKA “Crimson Thunderbird,” doesn't look quite right. In fact, at times her reactions seem almost mechanical.

Supergroup:
[edit] Personality
Sara Deckard is a kind, helpful individual who seems completely devoted to helping others, usually at her own expense. She tends to gravitate towards individuals she perceives as ‘nice’; and has a tendency to completely ignore issues such as gender, species, or criminal status. She tends to err on the side of forgiveness, and tends not to obsess over an individual’s “bad” traits; which can get her into trouble.
[edit] Powers
Sara’s powers appear to come from the boots and gauntlets she built for herself. The power source and energy types she creates are unknown, but may actually be some form of plasma.
[edit] Primary Set
Sara employs force fields of an unknown type. These fields appear to be quite powerful, and can absorb or deflect attacks from allies. Sara’s ability to protect herself with these fields is limited.
[edit] Secondary Set
Although she claims her gauntlets were originally designed to be “unified field force projectors” capable of harnessing any form of energy, Sara appears limited to projecting bolts of electricity to shock and stun opponents.
[edit] Additional Powers
[edit] Travel
Sara is capable of projecting an electromagnetic force powerful enough to hold her aloft. She claims her ability to fly can be unreliable in certain areas, however this has not been proven.
[edit] Power Pool
Sara has displayed some leadership qualities, and often gives allies timely warnings to help them avoid enemy attacks.
[edit] Abilities
Sara seems to recover from injuries and exhaustion very quickly, and is quite light on her feet.
She is also a highly capable engineer, having designed and constructed all of her own equipment personally.
She is quite gifted when it comes to miniaturizing components; and claims all of her equipment is powered by her body’s bio-electric field.
She is knowledgeable, and can occasionally be heard uttering things that she probably shouldn’t know. Presently, her sources for this information are unknown. This may be partially attributed to her Eidetic Memory. Sara has an unfortunate tendency to tell omega-level secrets to people without omega-level clearance.
[edit] Weaknesses and Limitations
Without her gauntlets and boots, Sara appears to be completely powerless.
Sara tends to be fearless in combat as well, often remaining to fight when other members of a team have fallen or retreated. She has been known to challenge dangerous foes directly in order to allow teammates the opportunity to withdraw.
She claims she has a good deal of difficulty doing multiple things at once, and will occasionally allow her force fields to drop in combat because she’s too busy attempting to stun foes or knock them away from teammates she deems particularly vulnerable.
[edit] Equipment
Unified Field Projection Gauntlets, Electromagnetic Boots, Electromagnetic Belt (Rarely Used, merely appears to enable her to fly without her boots), various other equipment.
[edit] Character History
Sara’s history is long and non-descript. Her grades were slightly above average, her childhood was uneventful, and her family history is completely uneventful. All of this makes her entry into the world of super-powered individuals something of a shock. She’s received numerous glowing recommendations from team leaders and allies, but very few contacts can recall asking her to work for them directly. As such, her appearances and accomplishments are difficult to trace.
If pressed, she will admit to being the daughter of one Colonel Deckard of the Nemesis Army.
Sara Deckard was constructed slightly less than two years ago by Nemesis himself. An infiltrator automaton, she was designed for independent action away from the watchful eye of a Warhulk supervisor. Specifically designed for infiltration and information retrieval, Sara Deckard is tasked with infiltrating the superhero community to act as an early-warning against actions which may adversely affect Nemesis’ plans.
Within the past three months, however, her behavior has become increasingly erratic. Although she remains completely trusted by Nemesis as a source of information, Sara Deckard has come to regret her role as a spy, and has begun including a degree of false information in all her reports. Her misinformation has already culminated in the failure of two of Nemesis’ plans. Additionally, she is currently seeking ways to break off her “employment” with the Nemesis Army, and is hopeful that she can find a way that won’t immediately result in her own death.
[edit] Trivia
There is a horizontal slash in Sara’s costume, bisecting the Aquilla (double-headed eagle) symbol she uses, which exposes a bit of cleavage. She refuses to talk about the slash with people she doesn’t trust, and refuses to let Serge repair the damage to her costume.
