Gila is a Scientist named David Stonesmith who tried to get a stable job after an "accident" and decided to be a super villain to support himself and get revenge on paragon for keeping him out of working society.

David is best described a social jerk, while very outgoing; is tactless and at worst times, annoying. Also prone to easily betray those he knows except for a select few if it works to his advantage.

As a child David was fascinated with what animals would achieve and do and always wished he and everyone could also, wondering if that humans are the top species of the world, why do lesser beings get nice frills?
He graduated from a Seattle university with a degree in biology and chemistry, and zoology; then moved to Paragon city for a job offer in Crey's PR labs, for months he worked on the multiple serums to achieve that with no cosmetic effect. Shortly after his research was shown in the paper he was visited by a group of 3 people who believed what he was doing was not good for humanity and tried to kill him by giving him and OD injection of his own serum experiment. David woke up later in a hospital forever changed on the outside after security found him the next morning.
After getting out of the hospital he tried to get a steady job either to be turned down or fired shortly after for scaring customers or shedding on the floor, or just generally not being a sight others wanted in the work place. He later decided to strike back and be a super villain and tried to rob a fast food store and killing a cashier in the fray, only to forget the doors could be locked down. sentenced to 60 years in the zig for robbery and murder in the second degree, he sat for 6 months until he got broken out with the rest of the inmates.

Sometimes simple ideas end up a large mess, thinking of installing cybernetic wings to try flying seemed ideal. Buying a Kit resembling a Lego set; instructions included, David asked a close friend to install them; sadly that plan never came to pass. David was ambushed at the Plexcorp medical room and given a (tampered) retro virus by a indirect enemy he had wronged named Alchemy Monday. waking up in mercy bay with further mutations and a clear message that some people are not to be trifled with.

After being fired from a bioengineering and weapons manufacturing corporation, David was short on allies, looking to find some through contacts and assets. Eventually he was tipped off to the Supreme Society's base of operations and happily joined after some conversation. Now assisting all he can to further their goal of world domination.

Side effects of the change David had was the ability to Hyper regenerate himself, this allowed David to teach himself to protrude claws of bone from his hands when he wanted to, able to cut through most metals, flesh, bone; and some rocks through further gene alteration and bi-daily calcium shots.
[edit] Weakness and limits
Power comes at a great price. David frequently has issues with body temperature and has to stay in hot or cold temperatures to balance himself and not overheat or freeze. Shedding is also an issue and goes through it every couple of months, he sells the shedding to purse makers for a little extra money, David also has a fear of fire and is easily burned.

Unlike normal serpent or lizard anthromorphic creatures, Gila does not enunciate every "es" sound, but rather every other one or at least waits 30 seconds before doing that again.
Gila's origin is based from Bio-Constrictor/Dr. Klimo from the CGI animated show "Max Steel".
