[edit] History
At the age of 18, [CLASSIFIED] enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserve. After boot camp, he joined an amateur wrestling league and competed as a heavyweight, becoming a champion three times. Because of his military background, he often boasts that he was once an Armed Forces champion, but he never once competed in collegiate wrestling.
In November 2005, [CLASSIFIED]'s unit was deployed to Iraq. During an operation, he was wounded in combat when shrapnel from a fragmentation grenade blast was jammed into his lower back. During his recouperation, he had a terrible nightmare in which he saw himself becoming an non-descript, humanoid abberation. Confused and angered by this dream, his moral compass was broken and he fled from his unit. He became a soldier of fortune, pillaging homes and businesses in Iraq, before he was captured in January of 2006 by another unit and arrested for going AWOL and many other crimes. He was sent back to the United States for evaluation and execution. However, he was placed in the custody of the Army's research and development department.
[CLASSIFIED] was placed in a hidden facility in the northeast, where he beleived he was awaiting a 'special' form of execution. However, he soon found out that he was to be transformed into a moreau - a genetically modified anthropomorphic supersoldier, capable of great feats of physical strength and agility. [CLASSIFIED] was unnerved by this revelation, but he did not resist his jailors - he already believed he was a monster. In February 2006, [CLASSIFIED] underwent the transformation process. According to the military record, his weight tripled itself due to the intense buildup of muscle mass, and his height increased by five inches due to bone size increase.
A few days after the process, [CLASSIFIED] took advantage of his newfound power and escaped the facility, fleeing to the Appalachians. Reports of "Bigfoot" in the area became rampant, and nearby towns began to suffer from mysterious grocery store burglaries. Many dead animals were also found in the forests in the region. All of this was [CLASSIFIED]'s work.
Eventually, shortly after 2008 turned around, [CLASSIFIED] decided to return to civilization and try to become a supervillain in Paragon City. However, not even a day after arriving, he was seen by some concerned citizens, who then reported his appearance. He was detained by Longbow that same day and sent to Zigursky Prison. He was later referenced in a small article in the Paragon City Free Press, where the same bystander that saw him claimed that "he was far less human, and far more monster...almost as if he was [...] a bruin berserker". This would give him the name that he would be come to be known by to the press. An Arachnos raid on or around March 24th resulted in [CLASSIFIED]'s escape, allowing him to flee to the Rogue Isles and begin a new life as a mercenary and career criminal. All attempts thus far by Longbow to recapture him have failed.
[edit] Powers
[CLASSIFIED]’s transformation into a moreau has gaven him the physical characteristics of his bestial lineage. Although he was already strong and fit before the procedure, his new ursine genetics give him increased strength, endurance, and resistance. His own training as a soldier has also fine-tuned his mental willpower, giving him the ability to overcome near-impossible obstacles.
[edit] Weaknesses and Limitations
Although [CLASSIFIED] is quick for his size like his animal brethren, his thick body can make it difficult for him to move around in tight spaces. He also has an enormous appetite, and can easily be baited with large amounts of barbecue-style food like burgers or hot dogs. This also accounts for his mild obesity, which does not hinder him in terms of strength or speed, but could become a factor in his health later on his life – hurrying the process of his premature death brought upon by genetic instability.
[edit] Affiliates
[CLASSIFIED] has a few acquaintances, but has no noteworthy affiliations.
[edit] Personality
[CLASSIFIED] is a stubborn individual who is normally very quiet, but he can be a very raucous person when disturbed. He prefers to settle things peacefully, but he is not above fighting to get things done. He’s also a very competitive person who loves to fight just for the fun of it, and although he likes a fair competition, he won’t hesitate to sink to a cheater’s level if they start to fight dirty.
While [CLASSIFIED] may be aggressive in combat – verbal or physical – he is actually a very submissive individual, and prefers to follow rather than lead. And if he has the chance to go off and do something on his own, he’ll prefer to fly solo.
[edit] Trivia
- B.B. prefers to be called by his real name, and will often introduce himself as [CLASSIFIED] while also telling his new acquaintance what the papers call him. Failure to call him [CLASSIFIED] will most likely result in angering him, possibly to the point where he may kill you.
- B.B.'s origins and species are based on the Moreau race from d20 Modern, which in itself draws inspiration from literary works such as H.G. Wells' The Island of Dr. Moreau, David Brin's Uplift series, and - most notably - S. Andrew Swann's Moreau series.
