Because I'm a giant obsessed fangirl, Ballistic is my nod to yet another DC character, Red Star. She's one of the Teen Templars' newest members.

Vanya Afinogenov was caught in an aftershock from a Rikti bomb in Moscow when they first attacked Earth six years ago. Coming to accept the benefits the otherwise tragic event caused, Vanya became enamored of the "hero culture", learning all she could. When the Russian government asked if she would be willing to represent her country in Paragon City, and to the Vanguard based there, she readily accepted. Currently a transfer student, she's running head-first into the heroic cause, and loving every minute.

- Her surname comes from the NHL player Maxim Afinogenov of the Buffalo Sabres. Go Sabres!!
- Her most treasured possession is a Russian fitness magazine from 2006; the cover bears the image of her role model, Giga Gal, whom Vanya recently met. It is now autographed, framed and hung on the wall of her apartment.
- Recently she was accepted into the Accelerated Baccalaureate Program in Biochemistry at Paragon University.
- Her strength tops out at 80 tons benched.
- She is a Praporshchik in the 4th Guards "Kantemirovskaya" Tank Division of the Moscow Military District, member of the Special Mutahuman Division of Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
