[edit] Animus Voro

Before his rebirth as the Soul Eater, Zakath was known as Animus Voro, a powerful Trinoman Shadowcaster. At the time, Animus lived in a partially ruined keep in Dallia with a small regiment of guards and his presence in the largely-unoccupied Dallian mountains was overlooked. Unfortunately, Zealot scouts had discovered the keep and immediately reported to their leader, Xorgath, that a Shadowcaster was in Dallia. Xorgath, with a large mob of Zealot followers, stormed the keep with the intention of capturing the Shadowcaster's soul. Animus' guards were overpowered and Animus himself was captured. He was taken to the Ruins of Dallia where he was murdered, his soul was collected and fed to the Creator, producing Zakath the Soul Eater. The Trinoman Shadowcaster Animus Voro is dead, but his soul lives on as the Xalem entity that is Zakath.

[edit] Powers

[edit] Shadowcasting

The art of Shadowcasting was introduced to Dallia by the Ancient Ones to a single bloodline of humans called the Shalinei, meaning Gift of Shadow. True to its origins, Shadowcasting has remained a guarded secret within the Shalinei. Animus was considered the last of the Shalinei. Though his human form has been destroyed, the presence of the ancient art still holds true in his Xalem form.

When he operates in Paragon City, Zakath forgos the use of his Trinoman War Blades. Instead, he chooses to rely upon his abilities as a Shadowcaster. Zakath must draw in power from himself or another source to be able to successfully perform his Shadowcasting.

[edit] Soul Consumption

When Zakath was created, the Creator bestowed upon him the ability to consume the souls of the fallen. Though he would prefer otherwise, Zakath is forced to perform this act to restore his energy and heal any wounds.

[edit] Weaknesses

  • Quantum Array Rifle - Though he is not a Kheldian, the blast from a Quantum Array Rifle is deadly to Zakath. The energy of a single blast from the gun tunes into the energy released by the souls in Zakath's mind and destroys them. Since the souls provide Zakath with energy and power, this can gravely injure him.
