Born Allison Stenson in rural Kansas. Allison lived an ordinary life until she was sole witness to the arrival on Earth of a Herutoi star vessel.

The Herutoi told her in their sing-song telepathic language that she was special, that her genes had called to them across the light-years. They told her that she was heir to a great legacy, the all-but-vanished League of Sentinels, defenders of a hundred thousand worlds. They had come to show her the stars and to awaken her power, enabling her to defend her homeworld and make it into the center of a new League.

Exposing her to the radiation of a mutex flare granted her powers over ionized plasma, and in the tradition of the League she was given a new name: Aeon Starr
