Adaptor was a concept I had been tossing around for a while. His first incarnation was an AR/Psi blaster that never made it past 4. I decided to abandon the shapeshifter concept until I had a better idea/name. When I came up with the name "Amalgam" I knew I had it. Unfortunately, the name Amalgam is unavailable. I again abandoned the concept. After the Halloween event went live, I decided that I would give my concept one more try. Luckily, the name Adaptor was still available. The product is this character.

History

Scott was born on Halloween. He was a normal boy except for one minor detail. He had no face! He had no mouths, nose, or even eyes. When the parents came to collect the child from the hospital nursery, they were surprised to see that instead of their baby boy, one of the doctors was laying in the crib. A short while later, they watched the doctor morph into the form of their faceless, baby boy. The parents concluded that their boy was a mutant.

The couple raised Scott the same way they would if he had no powers. There was the occasional prank. Such as turning into someone else and wandering away from his parents out in public, but it was all harmless fun. He got good grades in school but he wasn't an over achiever. When the time came for him to seriously think about what he was going to do in life, he decided that he wanted to become an engineer. He went to college to do just that.

In his senior year of college, during a birthday party his parents held at their house, his life was changed forever. During the party, a group of Fir Bolg burst into the house. They then proceeded to light the house on fire. Only Scott got out alive. Vowing to make sure the Fir Bolg payed and that no one else is subject to their torments, Scott vowed to protect the innocent.

Over the next few years, Scott trained. He trained in martial arts combat, and he trained his powers. He was constantly striving to better himself Finally, after years of training, he went out on the streets to rid the world of evil by "adapting" to the fight. He is now a registered vigilante and works with the PPD.

Personality

Scott's personality changes depending on what he is doing. He is normally a reserved held back guy that can be fun to be around even if he acts serious every now and then. If he is undercover, he will copy the personality of those around him to better fit in.

Hand To Hand Combat

Scott is very adept at fighting with his fists. Shifting the density of his hands depending on his foe allows him to fight in a variety of situations with little difficulty.

Shapeshifting

Scott has the ability to shapeshift into almost anything he can think of. From animal to humanoid you name it, Scott can look like it. His shapeshifting ability also grant's him some of the powers and abilities of whoever or whatever he shapeshifts into.

Scott is able to resemble his opponent's greatest fear. This scares his opponent in such a way that they are immobilized by fear.

One of Scott's signature moves. He is able to shift his hand to a vacuum-like attachment and literally suck the life force out of his foes.

Scott is able to shift his leg muscles allowing him to leap incredible distances.

Weaknesses

• Scott is still human despite his powers and while he can shift his skin structure to make it more durable he can be killed by regular means.
• It is speculated that if Scott continues to use his shapeshifting abilities, he will lose his identity entirely. This has not been proven true or false yet Scott is still careful.
• Anything that could cause him to revert back to his normal form and leave him powerless.

Halloween

Scott has realized that his powers increase during the Halloween season. This is most likely due to his being born on Halloween night when strong magics were in effect causing his powers to greatly increase during this time. During Halloween night, he is nearly unstoppable. Some of the side effects of his increased power include:

• The ability to shift into many forms without to much concentration.
• The ability to shift into many forms that would otherwise be impossible.
• Increased power and strength.

Mercenary

The Adaptor's first disguise is General Warren Fitzpatrick. As General Fitzpatrick, Scott is a mercenary for hire. He uses this guise to infiltrate militaristic organizations such as the Council, The Malta, and even Arachnos. He becomes a loud, gruff soldier who shoots first, and asks questions later. Becoming the General is Scott's excuse for excessive swearing and generally being rude.

Adaptor: Drop and give me 40 maggot!
Enemy: Huh?
Adaptor: That's it. Take a lap!

Robot

The Adaptor's second disguise is the Adapto-Bot. He becomes a robot that is able to infiltrate the organizations such as Crey, The Skyraiders, and Robotic Council compounds. He becomes an emotionless machine incapable of any feeling. He also gains a taste for motor oil. This disguise is Scott's excuse to do the Robot and drink motor oil without people thinking that he is weird.

Adaptor: Beep, one can of motor oil, boop.
Bartender: Um...Ok.
Bartender hands Adaptor a can of motor oil.
Adaptor takes the can of motor oil and begins dancing the Robot.
